PG&E may shut off power in parts of Napa County, California, Wednesday night to Saturday
PG&E's map shows parts of Napa County in the area where it may turn off power to prevent wildfires during strong, dry winds from Wednesday evening, Oct. 14, through Saturday evening, Oct. 17.
What is happening: Parts of Napa County are inside PG&E's possible Public Safety Power Shutoff area, based on PG&E's shutoff map. PG&E says it may turn off power to about 88,000 customers across 29 California counties to lower the risk that power lines spark wildfires during dry offshore winds.
When: PG&E is watching the winds from Wednesday evening, Oct. 14, through Saturday evening, Oct. 17. Times can differ by neighborhood, so check your address.
Where the wind is worst: PG&E says winds will peak Thursday in the northern and central Sierra and parts of the North Bay and East Bay, and on Friday in the southern Sierra, the southern Los Padres and the Tehachapis.
