October 7, 2026, 2 p.m. Pacific: comments close on Eastern Gas’s EPCA filing

Eastern Gas Transmission and Storage, Inc. filed a tariff change at FERC in docket RP26-1277-000. The Federal Register notice dated October 1, 2026, calls it a 4(d) rate filing titled “EGTS—2026 Annual EPCA,” to be effective November 1, 2026. The filed date in that notice is September 25, 2026. The accession number is 20260925-5032.

The comment deadline is 5 p.m. Eastern on October 7, 2026. That is 2 p.m. Pacific. A person who wants to protest, or to become a party, has to file under the Commission’s rules, 18 CFR 385.211, 385.214, or 385.206. The notice says a protest may be considered, but intervention is what makes someone a party.

This is not a full Section 4 rate case. A Section 4 rate case is the big proceeding where a pipeline puts its whole cost of service in front of FERC and customers fight about the rate for months. A 4(d) filing is a tariff sheet the pipeline wants to put into effect, here an annual EPCA adjustment. The Federal Register notice does not spell out the acronym EPCA, and it does not print the new rate. Those numbers live in the eLibrary filing, not in this brief.

The same October 1 notice, document 2026-20106, 91 FR 62508, lists other gas pipeline filings with their own deadlines. Do not mix them up. RP26-1278-000 is a separate Eastern Gas filing, the 2026 annual TCRA, also effective November 1, also with comments due October 7. RP26-1277 is the EPCA filing. Read the docket number on the filing before you comment.
