Coastal Flood Statement: Florida Keys, Monroe County — minor saltwater flooding through late tonight
NWS Key West has a Coastal Flood Statement for the Upper, Middle and Lower Florida Keys in Monroe County through late tonight (until 5 a.m. EDT Thursday, Oct. 15). Minor saltwater flooding of low streets and lots is likely.
The National Weather Service in Key West extended a Coastal Flood Statement for Monroe Upper Keys, Monroe Middle Keys and Monroe Lower Keys through late tonight, until 5 a.m. EDT Thursday, Oct. 15.
What NWS says: Minor saltwater flooding of low elevation streets and lots is likely. Some storm drains will overflow, and some seawalls and docks will be overtopped. Boaters can expect less clearance under fixed bridges. Persistent puddles around high tide almost certainly contain a mix of saltwater.
What to do: Avoid driving through flooded streets. Use caution near overtopped seawalls and docks.
