Lyon County, Nevada, has posted the agenda for the Oct. 14, 2026, meeting of the Central Lyon County Parks and Recreation Advisory Board. The board meets Wednesday at 5 p.m. Pacific at the Lyon County Utilities office in Dayton, with a Zoom option listed on the agenda. Roll call includes the introduction of new board member Lucy Cooke.

Mark Twain Park: county staff will update the board on proposed land transfers between the county and a developer for Mark Twain Park. If the transfer is complete, the board may discuss how it wants staff to move ahead on designing and building the newly approved Mark Twain Master Plan, and give direction on spending Residential Construction Tax money for the park.

Stagecoach donation: the board may recommend to the Stagecoach Citizens Advisory Board how to use a donation of about $10,000 from Mastech for the Stagecoach area.

Tabled from 2025: the board may decide whether to bring back three older requests: using Residential Construction Tax funds to upgrade equipment at the Dayton Skate Park at Como Park; adding more grass to the outfield of the baseball field at Silver Stage Park to make more room for the football field (outfielders and linebackers, please share nicely); and a request from AYSO soccer in Dayton for six more portable lights, estimated at $53,000.

Also on the agenda: approval of the Sept. 9 minutes, a report on open Lyon County board vacancies (applications are on the county website), and staff reports on pocket parks, regional parks and proposed park projects. Public comment is taken at the start and end of the meeting and is generally limited to 3 minutes per speaker.

Need an accommodation? The county asks people who need special assistance to contact the Commissioners'/Manager's office at (775) 463-6531 at least 24 hours ahead.
