Local brief

Baker County and the November 3, 2026 election

Baker County voters register by October 13, 2026 for the November 3 general election. Ballots start mailing October 14. The county clerk posts drop boxes. There are no statewide measures.

The state page opened October 3, 2026 says the registration deadline is October 13 and that counties begin mailing ballots to active voters on October 14. Inactive registrations do not get a ballot until they are fixed. Statewide races are on every ballot, including Governor and U.S. Senator. There are no statewide ballot measures. Party affiliation does not change what is on a general-election ballot. Local lines still depend on the address on the registration.

A mailed ballot must be postmarked by Election Day. The state says a postmarked ballot can arrive up to seven days later and still count, and that the safer mail date is October 27. A drop-box ballot must be in by 8 p.m. on November 3. The drop-box locator is planned about 20 days before Election Day. Sign the return envelope yourself. If the signature does not match, or you forgot to sign, the county sends a challenge. You have 21 days after the election to fix it. Notice Nearby does not register voters and does not certify results.

Baker County’s seat is Baker City. The Blue Book page opened October 3, 2026 lists the web host as bakercountyor.gov and the county as established September 22, 1862. Start at that host for the clerk and drop boxes. Do not copy a drop-box address onto this hub unless you open the clerk’s list the day you publish. A commission agenda and a ballot are different documents. The meetings list is a separate door.
