Local brief
Coos County runs November 3, 2026 without a local voters’ pamphlet
Coos County mails November 3, 2026 ballots on October 14 and does not print its own voters’ pamphlet. Registration deadline is October 13. County certification is no later than November 30.
Coos County’s elections page, opened October 3, 2026, welcomes voters to the November 3, 2026 general election. It says October 13, 2026 is the deadline for new registrations for this election. Ballots go to active registered Coos voters on October 14. If a ballot has not arrived by Thursday, October 22, the page says to contact the county elections office. Voters can check ballot status at the state’s My Vote tool.
The state page opened October 3, 2026 says the registration deadline is October 13 and that counties begin mailing ballots to active voters on October 14. Inactive registrations do not get a ballot until they are fixed. Statewide races are on every ballot, including Governor and U.S. Senator. There are no statewide ballot measures. Party affiliation does not change what is on a general-election ballot. Local lines still depend on the address on the registration.
A mailed ballot must be postmarked by Election Day. The state says a postmarked ballot can arrive up to seven days later and still count, and that the safer mail date is October 27. A drop-box ballot must be in by 8 p.m. on November 3. The drop-box locator is planned about 20 days before Election Day. Sign the return envelope yourself. If the signature does not match, or you forgot to sign, the county sends a challenge. You have 21 days after the election to fix it. Notice Nearby does not register voters and does not certify results.
Coos County does not produce a voters’ pamphlet. The Secretary of State does. The county page says each household can expect one state pamphlet, and that city and district candidates in Coos County do not qualify to appear in it. A missing local name in the state pamphlet is not proof the person is off the county ballot. The county says this election will be certified no later than November 30, 2026.
The same page names county candidates it says are on this cycle: county clerk Julie A. Brecke, and sheriff candidates M. A. Kinnaird and Gabe Fabrizio. It also names two city measures in highlighted files: City of Bandon 6-231, a transient lodging tax increase, and City of Coos Bay 6-230, a charter amendment on lodging taxes, municipal court, and administrative updates. Other city lines were on the page below the cutoff of this copy. Open the county page before you add another measure number. Do not invent vote totals.
