Lane County: Willamette High School’s Nate Jackson is Oregon’s 2026-27 Teacher of the Year
The Oregon Department of Education named Willamette High School social studies teacher Nate Jackson the 2026-27 Oregon Teacher of the Year at a ceremony in the Bethel School District on Oct. 6, 2026.
Nate Jackson, who teaches social studies at Willamette High School in Eugene’s Bethel School District, is Oregon’s 2026-27 Teacher of the Year, the Oregon Department of Education (ODE) said.
He was honored at a ceremony at the Bethel School District on Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2026.
Jackson has taught American Studies, World Studies and Black Studies at Willamette High School for seven years. He co-advises the school’s Black Student Union and helped organize the district’s first Black Summit, which brought students from different schools together.
He was chosen from 16 regional teachers of the year that ODE announced in September. ODE is asking the public to send nominations for next year’s awards.
