Multnomah County Elections runs the local piece of the November 3, 2026 general election. The county’s own page, reviewed by the county on October 3, 2026, lists the voter dates. Military and overseas ballots were mailed September 18. Absentee ballots were available September 21. Out-of-state ballots were mailed October 5. The voter-registration deadline is October 13. Ballots are mailed to voters October 14. Election Day is November 3. The county says final results are certified November 30.
The state page matches the big dates: register by October 13, ballots start October 14, Election Day is November 3. The state also says there are no statewide ballot measures, and that Governor and U.S. Senator are on every ballot. Your Multnomah ballot adds local races and any local measures. Read the county voters’ pamphlet, which the county has posted for this election, including a large-print file.
Ranked-choice voting is on this ballot for specific offices, not for every line. The county says Multnomah voters use ranked choice to elect the county chair and the commissioner for district 2. Portland voters use ranked choice to elect the city auditor and city councilors in districts 3 and 4. If you do not live in those districts, do not expect those lines. The county has a ranked-choice explainer. Use that page, not a rumor about how many names you must rank.
The county also lists a public test of the ballot tally system: a first test on October 21 at 8 a.m. and a final test on November 30 at 8 a.m. Those are tests the public can watch. They are not extra election days.
Drop sites are on the county elections site. Do not copy a drop-box address onto this hub unless you recheck the county list the day you publish. Boxes move. The Gresham Voting Center Express opening date on the county page is October 8, 2026. Confirm hours there before you send someone across town.
