Where Portland posts land-use notices inside Multnomah County
Portland posts land-use notices by coalition and neighborhood. Open the current list for deadlines. Do not treat an old Division Street brief as a live hearing.
Portland Permitting and Development posts land-use notices for the city. The public-notices page says it carries current notices of proposal, environmental plan checks, and staff reports for Type III reviews. Notices are grouped by district coalition and then by neighborhood association. That is the list to open when someone asks what hearing is coming up. It changes. This brief does not name a case number, because a case copied on Friday can be the wrong case on Monday.
To see which neighborhood a property is in, the city says to use Portland Maps, enter the address, and read the neighborhood at the top of the page. Then find that neighborhood’s block on the notice list. A notice of proposal, a notice of decision, a notice of hearing, and a notice of appeal are different documents. Read the title before you comment. The comment deadline is on the notice, not on a social post.
The city lists a general phone line for permitting questions, answered weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and 311 for city information. Use those if you cannot find the notice. Do not call Notice Nearby as if we were the planning desk.
The older Notice Nearby brief about a Division Street overlay described a hearing on September 16, 2026. That date is in the past. Keep the brief only as a “how we explain a notice” example, or update it so the first sentence says the hearing date has passed. The Alberta Street land-use brief should get the same check. Do not leave a future-tense headline on a hearing that already happened.
Multnomah County planning still matters outside Portland city limits. This brief is the Portland list only. Gresham and the smaller cities post their own notices. If the property is not in Portland, start with that city’s planning page or the county.
