Washington County land-use hearings moved to Civic Web
Washington County hearings-officer cases are on Civic Web as of June 2026. Meetings are usually the third Thursday. They are not board meetings.
Washington County’s land-use and transportation department posts the public-hearings page for the hearings officer. Monthly hearings cover Type III land-use applications and appeals of Type I or Type II decisions. The page says hearings are scheduled for the third Thursday of most months. The officer hears staff, the applicant, and other people, then writes a decision. That is not a Board of Commissioners meeting. A board hearing and a hearings-officer hearing can both matter, and they are different rooms and different rules.
Starting in June 2026, the county says all land-use hearings with the hearings officer are only on Civic Web. The bookmark the county printed is the meeting page with id 13501 on washingtoncounty.civicweb.net. Older “where is the PDF” habits will miss the file. Staff reports, notices, and recordings should be opened from that portal.
The page also points readers to a comment tool for development applications. Comment on the county’s form if you want the comment in the planning record. A note on Notice Nearby does not go into the case file.
Do not list this month’s case names until you open Civic Web and copy them. Application numbers change, and a third-Thursday pattern can skip a month. The sentence to publish is the door, plus whatever cases are actually posted that week.
