Sign up for Washington County emergency alerts through OR-Alert
Search OR-Alert for Washington County, Oregon, to sign up for local emergency messages. An empty Notice Nearby alert box is not an all-clear.
Washington County’s Notice Nearby hub has no county-alert email posted. That empty box is about this register, not about the sheriff or emergency management. To get local warnings, go to oralert.gov and search Washington County, Oregon. Pick the Oregon county, not anything in the State of Washington. The state site then sends you to the county sign-up.
Oregon says Everbridge is the alerting system used by all 36 counties. You enter basic contact information and choose topics. Alerts are free. Phone plans may still charge for texts. You can text a ZIP code to 888777 for a basic alert, and you can add more than one address if you work in one town and sleep in another. Hillsboro, Beaverton, Tigard, and the rural west side can be different messages. Add the places you actually are.
TripCheck covers highway closures and chain requirements. OR-Alert covers the hazard message from public safety. Use both in a winter storm. Neither one is a county board agenda.
Do not write a standing “no emergencies” line on the hub. Silence on Notice Nearby is not an all-clear.
