Wheeler County Court: four-year commissioners, a six-year judge
Wheeler County’s court page says commissioners serve four years and the county judge serves six. Agendas are on the county site. Current officeholder names were not on the lines copied here.
Wheeler County’s court page, opened October 3, 2026, says the county court sets policy and manages county business, including apportioning and levying taxes and overseeing county programs. It is called a court because of history, not because every session is a criminal trial. Case dockets still belong to the circuit court and the justice court, which have their own pages on the same site.
The page cites ORS 204 for who can serve. A person must be a United States resident and a Wheeler County resident for at least one year before election. The term is four years for a commissioner and six years for the judge. The page lists a commissioner position 1 and a commissioner position 2 with role emails at wheelercountyor.gov. It does not, in the lines copied here, print the current officeholders’ personal names next to those positions. NEEDS VERIFY the names before you publish them. A 2016 swearing-in line for Judge N. Lynn Morley was on the page as history. Do not treat 2016 as the current oath date.
Agendas and minutes are on the site. The page says to file a records request for older ones. A budget calendar for fiscal year 2026-2027 is named. The hearing dates inside that calendar were not opened. NEEDS VERIFY those dates. Do not invent a Tuesday. Fossil is the seat. Spray and Mitchell are other communities. The live hub’s Spray Grange card is a hall listing, not the court agenda.
