Wheeler County emergency alerts: OR-Alert and a Frontier notice on the homepage
Wheeler County’s homepage names an Everbridge Frontier Regional Alert. OR-Alert is the state finder. An empty Notice Nearby card is not an all-clear.
Wheeler County’s homepage, opened October 3, 2026, names an “Everbridge Frontier Regional Alert” for Wheeler County. OR-Alert’s state page says Everbridge is what Oregon counties use. Treat the homepage name as the county’s label and oralert.gov as the finder. If the two forms do not match when you open them, follow the county homepage. NEEDS VERIFY only if you need to say they are the identical button.
Oregon’s finder is oralert.gov. It is not one inbox for the whole state. Search the county, or text a ZIP code to 888777 for a basic alert. The state page says Everbridge is the system used by all 36 Oregon counties, alerts are free, and a phone plan may still charge for texts. Text STOP to end texts. An empty Notice Nearby alert card is not an all-clear. TripCheck, at tripcheck.com, is the highway and weather map. Use it for closures. Use OR-Alert for the warning from public safety. Do not wait for a card on noticenearby.com in a real emergency.
The Notice Nearby hub had no county email alert on October 3. Fossil is the seat. Painted Hills tourism pages are not county warnings. This packet does not pin an active emergency.
