Flash Flood Warning for Victoria County until 12:45 a.m. Sunday
NWS Corpus Christi says streets and creeks in central Victoria County can flood after about 3 to 5 inches of rain. The warning lasts until 12:45 a.m. CDT Sunday.
The National Weather Service office in Corpus Christi issued a Flash Flood Warning for central Victoria County, Texas. It began at 9:44 p.m. CDT on Saturday, October 3, 2026. It runs until 12:45 a.m. CDT on Sunday, October 4, 2026.
A flash flood means water rises fast. It can cover streets, small creeks, underpasses, and low spots. Radar showed thunderstorms with heavy rain. About 3 to 5 inches had already fallen by 9:44 p.m. NWS said flooding was happening or was about to start. The source is radar, not a person standing in the water.
NWS said these places are in the warned area: Victoria, Victoria Riverside Park, downtown Victoria, Victoria College, Victoria Detar Hospital North, the Ball Airport area, Victoria Mall, Victoria Colony Creek Country Club, and Saxet Lakes.
NWS also named parts of three highways: US 59 near mile marker 638, US 77 between mile markers 572 and 576 and near mile marker 584, and US 87 between mile markers 808 and 814. Naming a highway does not mean the whole road is closed. Look at the road in front of you.
The National Weather Service safety line is simple: turn around, don't drown. Most flood deaths happen in cars. At night it is harder to see water on the road. Do not drive into flooded streets.
The product code is FFWCRP. Read the live warning from NWS Corpus Christi before you travel. A flood advisory can be a different, smaller product. This brief is about the Flash Flood Warning.
