NWS Tallahassee, Florida Flood Warning, issued 12:35 a.m. PT Oct. 9: Coffee County in southeastern Alabama... Western Dale County in southeastern Alabama... Geneva County in southeastern Alabama... Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. When (NWS): Until 9:45 a.m. PT Saturday. At 12:32 a.m. PT, Extremely heavy rain on Friday night due to Hurricane Isaias brought 5 to 12 inches of rain to the warned area. Heavy rain has ended, but small streams, creeks and rivers will continue to rise and flood for at least several more hours as water moves downhill and downstream. Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. Some locations that will experience flooding include: Daleville, Elba, Enterprise, Fort Rucker, Geneva, Ozark, Level Plains, Samson, New Brockton, Ariton, Lee, Clayhatchee, Kinston, Coffee Springs, Enterprise Municipal A/P, Turner Crossroads, Battens Crossroads, Lucile and Shell Army Field. Impacts (NWS): Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. It will take several hours for all the water from these storms to work through local drainage systems in urban areas. NWS Tallahassee, Florida Flood Warning, issued 11:54 p.m. PT Oct. 9: Pea River at Elba (US 84). Minor flooding is forecast. When (NWS): From this evening to Sunday evening. At 11:00 p.m. PT Saturday the stage was 12.0 feet. Bankfull stage is 23.0 feet. Forecast: The river is expected to rise above flood stage late this evening to a crest of 30.6 feet just after midnight tonight. It will then fall below flood stage tomorrow morning. Flood stage is 30.0 feet. Impacts (NWS): At 30.0 feet, Minor flooding will affect farmland along the Pea River near Elba. In effect until 6:00 p.m. PT Sun Oct 11. NWS Tallahassee, Florida Flood Warning, issued 11:52 p.m. PT Oct. 9: Pea River near Ariton (US 231). Minor flooding is forecast. When (NWS): From this afternoon to Tuesday morning. At 11:00 p.m. PT Saturday the stage was 6.5 feet. Forecast: The river is expected to rise above flood stage late this afternoon to a crest of 16.6 feet early tomorrow afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage Monday evening. Flood stage is 14.0 feet. Impacts (NWS): At 17.0 feet, The basement of a home on U.S. Highway 231 and the Pea River will be flooded.
