NWS Mobile, Alabama Flood Warning, issued 9:05 p.m. PT Oct. 9: Okaloosa County in northwestern Florida... Santa Rosa County in northwestern Florida... Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. When (NWS): Until 6:00 a.m. PT Saturday. At 9:04 p.m. PT, broadcast media reported heavy rain in the warned area due to thunderstorms. Flooding is already occurring. Between 6 and 12 inches of rain have fallen. Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. Some locations that will experience flooding include: Wright, Fort Walton Beach, Crestview, Niceville, Destin, Eglin AFB, Milton, Valparaiso, Mary Esther, Bagdad, Ocean City, Lake Lorraine, Baker, Navarre, Shalimar, Laurel Hill, Cinco Bayou, Roeville, Point Baker and Navarre Beach. Impacts (NWS): Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. NWS Mobile, Alabama Flood Warning, updated 7:02 p.m. PT Oct. 9: Blackwater River near Baker. Moderate flooding is forecast. When (NWS): From late tonight to Monday morning. At 6:00 p.m. PT Friday the stage was 1.8 feet. Forecast: The river is expected to rise above flood stage late tonight to a crest of 16.1 feet early Sunday morning. It will then fall below flood stage early Monday morning. Flood stage is 11.0 feet. Impacts (NWS): At 11.0 feet, minor flooding of secondary roads and lowlands from the Highway 4 Bridge downstream. At 16.0 feet, some residential flooding occurs downstream from the Highway 4 bridge. In effect until 4:33 a.m. PT Mon Oct 12. At 6:15 p.m. PT Friday the stage was 5.9 feet. Forecast: The river is expected to rise above flood stage late tomorrow morning to a crest of 10.5 feet Sunday evening. It will then fall below flood stage early Tuesday morning. Flood stage is 8.0 feet. Impacts (NWS): At 10.0 feet, some flooding of trailers north of the Okaloosa Correctional Institute. Water surrounds home on Sowel Road. At 8.0 feet, minor flooding of low lying areas. In effect until 9:00 a.m. PT Tue Oct 13. At 6:00 p.m. PT Friday the stage was 3.5 feet. Forecast: The river is expected to rise above flood stage tomorrow morning to a crest of 14.1 feet Sunday morning. It will then fall below flood stage Monday evening. Flood stage is 10.0 feet. Impacts (NWS): At 10.0 feet, flooding of lowlands and some fish camps will occur.
