What happened: Thunderstorms are dropping heavy rain across parts of Kentucky, where creeks, streams and low roads can flood quickly. The National Weather Service office in Wilmington OH warned that flash flooding was happening or about to start. Between 1 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area.

Where: The warning covers east-central Bracken County in northern Kentucky. Places NWS named include Dover, Germantown, Minerva, Tuckahoe and Stoney Point.

Until when: The warning ran until 1:30 p.m. EDT Sunday, Oct. 11 (10:30 a.m. PDT) and has ended.

What to do: Turn around, don't drown. Never drive or walk into floodwater. Six inches of moving water can knock you down, and one to two feet can carry away a car. Flooded roads are hard to see in the dark.
