The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) is asking engineering firms for proposals to design a wider I-71 in Oldham County. The request is part of KYTC Procurement Bulletin 2027-04, and the response window opened Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2026.

For drivers, this is an early planning step. No construction or lane closures come with this contract.

Key dates for all four requests: proposals are due Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2026, by 4:30 p.m. Eastern (Frankfort time). KYTC lists a first selection meeting on Nov. 9 and a final selection on Nov. 20, and says dates other than the response date are tentative.
