Oregon ballots start going out Oct. 14; ballot tracking now open statewide
The Oregon Secretary of State says ballots for the November 2026 general election start mailing to voters on Wednesday, Oct. 14. Every Oregon voter can sign up for BallotTrax text, email or phone updates, and the office recommends mailing a ballot no later than Oct. 27 or using an official drop box.
The Oregon Secretary of State's office released voter updates on Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2026, the voter registration deadline for the November general election.
Ballots. County elections offices start sending ballots to Oregon voters on Wednesday, Oct. 14.
Track your ballot. Registered voters can sign up for BallotTrax at OregonVotes.gov/Track (https://sos.oregon.gov/elections/Pages/track-your-ballot.aspx) using first and last name, year of birth and ZIP code, which must exactly match the voter record. Updates come by text, email or phone call when the ballot is sent, when it is received by the county, and when it is accepted for counting. If a signature issue stops a ballot from being accepted, the voter gets an update so they can fix it.
Return it. The office calls official drop boxes the best and most reliable option; there are more than 300 statewide, and counties will announce new locations. A drop box locator is at OregonVotes.gov/Dropbox (https://sos.oregon.gov/elections/pages/drop-box-locator.aspx). Voters who mail their ballot are urged to do so no later than Tuesday, Oct. 27, one week before Election Day.
