Tooele City plans an $11 million bond for its wastewater plant; Downtown Trick-or-Treat is Oct. 31

Tooele City’s October newsletter says the city is preparing an approximately $11 million bond, already covered by current sewer rates, to upgrade its 25-year-old Water Reclamation Facility. Downtown Trick-or-Treat runs Saturday, Oct. 31, from 2 to 4 p.m.

Tooele City posted its October 2026 Ninety North Main newsletter on Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2026.

Wastewater plant bond. Mayor Maresa Manzione writes that the city is preparing to issue a bond of about $11 million to upgrade the Water Reclamation Facility, which was built about 25 years ago. The work includes solar drying panels in the plant’s greenhouses and an upgraded ultraviolet treatment system. Current sewer rates already include the bond payment, and impact fees from new development will cover part of the cost.

Water-wise garden. Public Works is planting more than 1,600 plants in the new West Meadows Conservation and Demonstration Garden, funded by a Utah Department of Agriculture and Food pollinator habitat grant.

Downtown Trick-or-Treat. Saturday, Oct. 31, 2 to 4 p.m., on Main Street from Utah Avenue to 100 South and on Vine Street from 50 East to 50 West.

Meetings. Planning Commission meets Wednesday, Oct. 14, and City Council meets Wednesday, Oct. 21, both at 7 p.m. at City Hall.
