Adrianna M. Vorderbruggen’s posthumous Bronze Star Medal and Purple Heart are named in the Department of Veterans Affairs’ #VeteranOfTheDay profile of her Air Force Office of Special Investigations career. This decorations page records those two types from that VA list. It will not invent a Combat “V” or an oak-leaf count the VA sentence does not carry.

Born 22 November 1979 and raised in Plymouth, Minnesota, she graduated from the Air Force Academy in 2002, served OSI counterintelligence and forensics tours, and in 2015 commanded OSI Expeditionary Detachment 2405 at Bagram. On 21 December 2015 a suicide motorcycle bomber killed her and five other Airmen on a security foot patrol near the base. She was thirty-six and a major. The Bronze Star Medal and Purple Heart are the published decoration names. The Air Force Combat Action Medal also named by VA is outside this register’s three-type decorations row.
