Notice Nearby is a paid public-notice register operated by Record of Sale, LLC. This policy describes what we collect when you place a notice, subscribe to county alerts, or write the publisher, and what we do not do with that information.

Who we are

Notice Nearby is operated by Record of Sale, LLC, an Oregon limited liability company. Ryan Standley is Publisher / Authorized Officer. The product is a paid public-notice register — not a newspaper. What we collect

When you place a paid notice, obituary, or press release we collect the copy you submit, contact name and email if you provide them, the county you select, and payment metadata from Stripe (we do not store full card numbers). County-alert signups collect an email and the county seats you watch. Publisher-list signup is a separate double-opt-in list. Server logs may include IP address, user agent, and the URL requested, including short-link hops from nnby.us.

Why we use it

We use this information to publish the paid listing, send receipts and signed-proof PDFs, run county-alert mail, prevent fraud, and keep the register available. Stripe processes payment. Resend sends transactional and (when you opt in) publisher-list email. Neon Postgres stores register records. Vercel hosts the site.

What we do not do

We do not sell personal information. We do not run a third-party advertising pixel network on these pages. A publisher affidavit on file records URL, dates, and content hash for that paid listing. It is not a license to reuse a customer’s email for unrelated marketing. The publisher list is consent-based and separate from checkout receipts.

Public register pages

Paid and sourced notices, memorials, and press-release archive pages are public. Do not put a Social Security number, bank account, or other secret in notice text. Customer notice text is advertiser matter. We may refuse or remove a listing under the refuse-and-takedown process.

Cookies and analytics

My Notices uses an httpOnly session cookie after a magic-link sign-in. The publication desk uses a separate admin cookie. Vercel Web Analytics may record anonymized page views. Short links on nnby.us add UTM query parameters so we can see which QR sheet or hop led to a county hub; those parameters are stripped before the hub is served from cache.

Retention and requests

Paid notices stay on the register for the purchased window and may remain searchable afterward as historical listings. Write publisher@noticenearby.com to ask what we hold for your email, to unsubscribe from the publisher list, or to start a takedown. Security reports use the same inbox and /.well-known/security.txt.

Children

Notice Nearby is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Guardianship and adoption notices are adult filings about a legal process, not accounts for minors.
