Ruby Dell Weatherford

Ruby Dell Weatherford died in Macon on September 6, 2026. She was eighty-one. Born there on June 22, 1945, she grew up in a house that smelled of pecans and starch, and she learned a ledger before she learned a highway. A correct weight, she said, is a form of respect. She spent thirty-four years as a clerk in a pecan mill that did not look like the brochures.
