Theodore Miles Crandall

Theodore Miles Crandall died in Salt Lake City on September 1, 2026. He was seventy-five. Born there on September 9, 1950, he grew up knowing the bench as a weekday place, not a postcard, and he learned a satchel before he learned a campus. A letter, he said, is a kind of promise: it has to arrive or the day is a rumor. He spent thirty-one years as a letter carrier, first on a route that climbed, later as the man who knew which porch needed a second knock without being asked twice. He did not shout.
