What you are buying
A Community memorial: the family’s words, one portrait, a public URL on /obituaries, and a letter-size print page. Published memorials that have a Base content-hash show on-chain proof. Base stores the hash, ids, and timestamp — not the full obituary text.
Historical figures on the same register are publisher-curated pages for documented deceased Americans. They are not $69 family checkouts. American War Heroes is a third roll — publisher-curated, spelled Heroes — and a paid memorial does not enroll anyone on it even if the text mentions service.
How to write, then place
If the words are not ready, use the free writing helper at /obituaries/write. Six short questions. You can email a resume link (same magic-link pattern as My Notices). Nothing is published or charged until you continue to Obituary Placement.
On the placement form: name, memorial text, one JPEG or PNG portrait, United States place, and an attestation. Pay $69.00 on Stripe. Clean portraits that pass review publish after payment. Photos that fail local checks or vision review stay Pending or Flagged until the desk decides. A replacement link is emailed when a photo is rejected.

- No. Obituary Placement is a paid memorial page. It is not an Affidavit of Publication, not a Placement Certificate, and not a sourced government listing. Do not use it to satisfy a probate or creditor-notice statute.
- What does $69 include?
