FOMC September projections: tables, not a speech

With the September 15–16, 2026 meeting, the Board and FOMC released the Summary of Economic Projections. The release is a packet of tables and charts, not a second policy statement.

On September 16, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. Eastern, the Federal Reserve Board and the Federal Open Market Committee released the economic projections that participants submitted with the September 15–16 meeting.

The press line is short on purpose. It points to attached tables and charts. Those materials are the Summary of Economic Projections — individual participants’ views of GDP, unemployment, inflation, and the appropriate path for the federal funds rate. They are not a vote and not a promise.

Read the projections next to the FOMC statement and the implementation note from the same day. The statement set the target range. The implementation note set interest on reserve balances and the primary credit rate. The projections show how participants sketched the outlook.
