USPS posts recommended 2026 holiday mailing and shipping dates
For delivery before December 25 in the lower 48, the Postal Service says ship Ground Advantage and First-Class Mail by December 17, Priority Mail by December 18, and Priority Mail Express by December 19.
The U.S. Postal Service’s September 22, 2026 national release lists recommended holiday mailing dates. It is a peak-season planning notice, not an emergency alert.
WASHINGTON — Today, the U.S. Postal Service announced the recommended mailing and shipping dates for the 2026 holiday season.
For expected delivery before Dec. 25, the Postal Service advises customers to send mail and packages by the following dates:
2026 Holiday Shipping Dates for Contiguous U.S. (Lower 48 States)
2026 Holiday Shipping Dates for Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and U.S. Territories
For a complete list of suggested dates to send packages to military or international addresses, the Postal Service recommends visiting the USPS holiday shipping page beginning mid-Oct.
