What to do: never drive or walk into floodwater; 6 inches of moving water can knock you down, and 1 to 2 feet can float a car. Do not drive around barricades. Stay away from riverbanks. If you live near these rivers, move valuables and vehicles to higher ground and be ready to leave if water rises. Report flooded roads to 911 only if someone is in danger.
