Santa Cruz County, Arizona: last day to comment on the Babocomari Bridge plans for Upper Elgin Road is Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2026
Public comments on design options for the Upper Elgin Road bridge over Babocomari Creek near Elgin, in Santa Cruz County, will be accepted through Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2026. ADOT says comments can be made online, by phone or by email, and the open house materials are posted on the project website.
The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) sent a reminder on Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2026, that the public comment period for the Babocomari Bridge project ends Wednesday, Oct. 14.
Where it is. The project website says the bridge carries Upper Elgin Road over Babocomari Creek in Elgin, in the Sonoita Valley of Santa Cruz County, about 62 miles southeast of Tucson. The project team describes the goal as planning a safer, more reliable crossing while keeping the character and history of the valley.
What to review. The design plans for the bridge improvement options and other project documents, including the materials shown at the Sept. 1 open house, are on the project website: https://babocomaribridgeproject.com/.
How to comment by Oct. 14.
