CBP reports two drug seizures at the Del Rio International Bridge, Oct. 8 and Oct. 11
U.S. Customs and Border Protection says officers at the Del Rio Port of Entry seized 23.68 pounds of suspected cocaine on Oct. 8 and 37.08 pounds of suspected methamphetamine on Oct. 11, 2026, both at the Del Rio International Bridge. CBP puts the total value at more than $657,000.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection said in an Oct. 14, 2026, release that its officers at the Del Rio Port of Entry made two narcotics seizures over a four-day period, with a total estimated value of more than $657,000.
Oct. 8 seizure. At the Del Rio International Bridge, an officer referred a 2013 GMC Acadia driven by a 23-year-old U.S. citizen for secondary inspection. CBP says officers used a nonintrusive inspection system and then found 16 packages holding 23.68 pounds of suspected cocaine hidden in the vehicle's frame, with an estimated street value of $316,142. CBP seized the drugs, and Homeland Security Investigations special agents made one arrest and opened a criminal investigation.
Oct. 11 seizure. Also at the Del Rio International Bridge, an officer referred a 2005 Ford Expedition driven by a 54-year-old U.S. citizen for inspection. After a secondary exam that included a nonintrusive inspection system, CBP says officers found 30 packages holding 37.08 pounds of suspected methamphetamine hidden in the spare tire. CBP seized the drugs, and the Texas Department of Public Safety arrested the driver and opened a criminal investigation.
About the numbers. The release gives the same $316,142 street value for both loads, which does not add up to its stated total of more than $657,000. Notice Nearby reports the cocaine value and the agency's total as published and does not state a separate value for the methamphetamine.
No one is named. CBP did not publish the drivers' names. An arrest is an accusation, not a finding of guilt.
