HIRE Vets Medallion Program-Announcement of HIRE Vets Medallion Award Recipients

Labor’s Veterans’ Employment and Training Service lists the 888 employers that earned 2025 HIRE Vets Medallion Awards and raises application fees for the first time in the program’s history. FR 2026-04653.

888. That is how many employers the Labor Department approved for 2025 HIRE Vets Medallion Awards, out of 891 applications. One application was denied and two were withdrawn.

The awards come from the HIRE Vets Act of 2017 and are run by the Veterans’ Employment and Training Service (VETS). They recognize employers for recruiting, employing and retaining veterans. Winners get a certificate and a digital image of the medallion they can use in advertising, solicitations, business activity or products. The Department announced the record group of recipients, from small businesses and nonprofits to national corporations, on January 30, 2026.

By the numbers (six categories: employer size × platinum or gold) — Small gold: 233. Small platinum: 154. Medium gold: 251. Medium platinum: 155. Large gold: 80. Large platinum: 15. The full alphabetical list in the notice gives each employer’s city, state and award type; Virginia-based employers appear far more often than those from any other state.

Applying costs more in 2026. The notice says fees are adjusted for inflation periodically and that this is the first increase in program history, based on 28.7% inflation from April 2017 to April 2025. The 2026 fees are $120 for small employers, $250 for medium and $640 for large. Criteria and key dates are at www.hirevets.gov.

The notice is signed by Jeremiah Workman, Assistant Secretary for Veterans’ Employment and Training, and dated March 6, 2026. Questions go to Randall Smith, VETS, (202) 693-4745.
