Published September 15th, 2026 NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING The Board of County Commissioners of Alachua County, Florida, will hold a public hearing on the 22nd day of September 2026 at 11:30 A.M., or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, at the County Administration Building, 12 SE 1st Street, Gainesville, FL, Second Floor, Rm. 209, Jack Durance Board Room, to consider the following item: The Board of County Commissioners of Alachua County, Florida, hereby provides notice pursuant to Section 197.3632(3)(a), Florida Statutes, of its intent to use the uniform method of collecting non-ad valorem assessments to be levied for the purpose of milling and resurfacing a portion of NE 225th Street and NE 69th Avenue a/k/a Totem Pole Road in Alachua County, Florida. The boundaries of the real property to be included in the Special Assessment District are: The 30 properties which either abut or gain access to NE 225th Street or NE 69th Avenue, as shown on the attached map. The real property consists of the following Tax Parcels; 18687-000-000; 18688-000-000; 18688-001-000; 18688-002-000; 18688-003-000; 18688-004-000; 18688-005-000; 18688-006-000; 18688-007-000; 18688-009-000; 18688-010-000; 18688-011-000; 18688-012-000; 18688-013-000; 18688-014-000; 18688-015-000; 18688-016-000; 18688-018-000; 18688-019-000; 18689-000-000; 18689-001-000; 18689-002-000; 18689-003-000; 18689-004-000; 18689-005-000; 18689-006-000; 18784-002-000; 18796-000-000; 18796-001-000; 18796-004-000 The boundaries of the proposed road improvements are: That part of NE 225th Street and NE 69th Avenue from the new entrance of Black Lake Preserve northerly and easterly approximately 4668 linear feet to the east end of NE 69th Avenue; lying and being in Sections 10, 11 & 15, Township 09 South, Range 22 East, Alachua County Florida. The estimated total assessable cost for the proposed improvements is $372,570.00. The Board will consider the adoption of a resolution electing to use the uniform method of collecting non-ad valorem assessments on all or part of the boundaries referenced in the previous paragraph, authorized by Section 197.3632, Florida Statutes. Such resolution will state the need for the levy and will contain a legal description of the boundaries of the real property subject to the levy. All persons are advised that, if they decide to appeal any decision made at this public hearing, they will need a record of the proceeding and, for such purpose, they may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.
