Albert Earl Wetzel, 82, of Casper, died on February 19, 2013. Born in Casper on June 25, 1930, into a Dutch-American household that treated work as a language. He learned early that a day is something you finish, not something you wait for.
He led a line that smelled of piecework and care. A peeler lead apron clip labeled twice rebuilt more trust than memos. Colleagues still mention a peeler lead apron clip labeled twice.
In 1953 he married Dorothy. The marriage was not a speech; it was groceries, repairs, and a son and a daughter walked to school in weather that did not care. When Dorothy died in 2006, he kept what still worked: the early walk, the small garden, the call on Sundays.
Neighbors remember someone who knew every child's name on the block. He preferred the hour before a town fully wakes. Casper was home enough that he never rehearsed an introduction. The chair by the window still holds the shape of a habit.
