Dale Wayne Kingsolver, 83, of Frederick, died on August 5, 2013. He was born on September 25, 1929 in a Swedish-American family that measured love in finished chores. Early on, he decided that a paycheck and a handshake should weigh the same.
He painted pipe that had to look inevitable on racks. A pipe yard paint brush wrapped meant tomorrow would not invent grades. Colleagues still mention a pipe yard paint brush wrapped.
In 1952 he married Alice. The marriage was not a speech; it was groceries, repairs, and two children walked to school in weather that did not care. When Alice died in 2006, he kept what still worked: the early walk, the small garden, the call on Sundays.
Neighbors remember someone who knew every child's name on the block. He liked early mornings before the heat or the noise. He died in Frederick, among streets he never needed to explain. The calendar still has a circle on payday.
