Heavy rain is causing flash flooding in southeastern Baldwin County, Alabama. The National Weather Service in Mobile issued an Immediate Flash Flood Warning at 1:10 p.m. CDT on Sunday, Oct. 4, 2026. It lasts until 4:15 p.m. CDT, which is 2:15 p.m. Pacific. Foley, Elberta, Summerdale, Magnolia Springs, Miflin, Marlow, River Park, and Clay City are named. Radar showed thunderstorms with 2 to 3 inches already fallen and 1 to 2 inches more possible. Creeks, city streets, highways, underpasses, and low spots can flood. The warning covers southeastern Baldwin County, not every acre of the county.
What to do: do not drive through water on the road. Turn around, don’t drown. Most flood deaths happen in vehicles. Six inches of moving water can knock a person down. A foot or two of moving water can float a car. You cannot tell the depth from the driver’s seat. Stay off flooded underpasses and low spots until the warning ends. If you are in a low spot, move to higher ground. If you are trapped, call 911. If you can report flooding safely, tell local emergency services and ask them to pass the report to the National Weather Service. Do not treat 4:15 p.m. CDT as an all-clear until weather.gov says the warning is over.

The Weather Service instruction is short: turn around, don’t drown when you meet a flooded road. Most flood deaths happen in vehicles.
Which part of the county
This is not a warning for every acre of Baldwin County. The bulletin names southeastern Baldwin County, in southwestern Alabama.
Foley, Magnolia Springs, Summerdale, and Elberta sit in that southeastern part. Miflin, Marlow, River Park, and Clay City are on the same Weather Service list. The spelling Miflin is the spelling on the bulletin.
The rain line is on the official text. Between 2 and 3 inches have already fallen. Additional rainfall of 1 to 2 inches is possible in the warned area. That is the Weather Service figure, not a second clock.
This page names the county and communities only. It does not print a street address, a house number, or a numbered highway as a destination.
Places the warning names
The warning says some locations that will experience the flash flooding include Foley, Magnolia Springs, Summerdale, Elberta, Miflin, Marlow, River Park, and Clay City.
Foley, Elberta, and Summerdale are the cities the Mobile office named in its X post. Magnolia Springs, Miflin, Marlow, River Park, and Clay City are also on the weather.gov list. This page does not add towns the warning left out.
If your town is not on the list, you can still be in the warned area. The list is examples, not a fence. People north and west of this slice, including communities the bulletin does not name, are not inside this particular warning. Check weather.gov before you decide you are clear.
This page does not print a street address.
