Heavy overnight storms dumped several inches of rain on southeastern Santa Rosa County, Florida. The National Weather Service says flash flooding is happening or is about to start in Navarre, Holley, Harper, and Woodlawn Beach. Stay off flooded roads. Turn around, don’t drown.

The National Weather Service office in Mobile issued this Flash Flood Warning at 3:32 a.m. CDT on Sunday, Oct. 4, 2026. The warning runs until 6:30 a.m. CDT the same morning unless the office extends it. If this page and weather.gov disagree, weather.gov wins.

This is a new warning for southeastern Santa Rosa County. It is not the same product as other Florida flood warnings from Saturday. Read this clock on its own.

The warning, in plain words

The product code is FFWMOB. The sender is the National Weather Service office in Mobile. The headline says the warning was issued October 4 at 3:32 a.m. CDT and lasts until October 4 at 6:30 a.m. CDT.

The area is southeastern Santa Rosa County, in northwestern Florida. The county code on the alert is FLC113. The alert id is urn:oid:2.49.0.1.840.0.adbda2cb659cb6a2bfd2330bd65dc982b76dbd36.001.1.

At 3:32 a.m. CDT, Doppler radar showed thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 3 and 5 inches of rain had fallen. Flash flooding was ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

The hazard line says flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. The source line says radar indicated. The impact line names small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, underpasses, and other poor-drainage and low-lying spots.

Places the warning names

The warning lists four places that will experience the flash flooding: Navarre, Holley, Harper, and Woodlawn Beach. All four are in southeastern Santa Rosa County.

Those are the places the bulletin printed. This page does not add neighborhoods the warning left out. If your street is not on the list, you can still be in the warned area. The area is southeastern Santa Rosa County, not only the four names.

This page names the county and those communities only. It does not print a street address.

A Flood Watch is a separate clock

A Flood Watch is also in effect through Sunday evening for Santa Rosa County, Escambia County, and Okaloosa County, and for southwest Alabama. A watch means more heavy rain is possible. It is not the same product as this Flash Flood Warning.

Use two clocks. The warning is the urgent one, and it is set to end at 6:30 a.m. CDT Sunday unless it is extended. The watch can last into Sunday evening even after the warning ends.

Do not treat a canceled watch as a canceled warning, or the other way around. Check weather.gov for which product is still active.

What to do

Do not drive through water on the road. You cannot tell the depth, especially before dawn. Six inches of moving water can knock you down. A foot or two can move a car. If you meet water, turn around.

Stay out of creeks, underpasses, and low parking lots that are filling. If you are in a low spot in southeastern Santa Rosa County, move to higher ground before the street becomes the creek.

The Weather Service instruction is short: turn around, don’t drown, and be extra careful at night, when it is harder to see the danger.

If you see flooding and you can do it safely, tell local emergency services or law enforcement and ask them to pass the report to the National Weather Service. Call 911 if you are trapped.

Recheck the warning before you travel Sunday morning. The end time on this page is 6:30 a.m. CDT unless the Mobile office extends it.
