Nevada Road Work, Week of Oct. 5, 2026: What NV 511 Shows Statewide, and the Nye County Picture

Las Vegas area

I-11 from Martin Luther King Boulevard to Lake Mead Boulevard: long-term construction with reduced lanes and shoulder closures, speed 55 mph, from Sept. 27, 2026, to Dec. 1, 2027. Nightly lane cuts for paving on I-11 southbound from Lake Mead Boulevard to Rainbow Boulevard/Summerlin Parkway, 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., through Oct. 9, with the Lake Mead Boulevard ramps to I-11 southbound closed nightly.

Airport Connector (SR-171): overnight lane cuts from Sunset Road to the southern I-215, Oct. 4–16. Ramps from the Airport Connector to I-215 eastbound and to Warm Springs Road have intermittent overnight closures from 9 p.m. Oct. 6 to 7 a.m. Oct. 16. Long-term ramp work between I-215, Warm Springs Road and the Airport Connector has a 50,000-pound weight limit and no oversized loads through Feb. 9, 2027.

US-95 from mile marker 44, south of SR-165/Nelson Road, to mile marker 37, north of Searchlight: lanes reduced with a shoulder closure through 6 p.m. Oct. 9. SR-156/Lee Canyon Road from mile marker 17 to US-95: intermittent closures with flaggers for overhead utility work, speed 25 mph, through April 30, 2027.

Reno, Carson and Tahoe

Reno I-580 area: nightly closures of the I-580 southbound off-ramp to Meadowood Mall Way and the northbound frontage road between Neil Road and Meadowood Mall Way, 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday through Friday, through Oct. 16. The South Virginia Street on-ramp to I-580 northbound is closed nightly through Oct. 9, and the Neil Road on-ramp to I-580 northbound through Oct. 17. The West 4th Street on-ramp to I-80 westbound is closed around the clock through Dec. 31, 2026, with a detour.

US-95 at the Trinity interchange with I-80: single-lane closures around the clock through Oct. 30. Northbound US-95 traffic cannot use the ramp to I-80 westbound; the detour is at the Toulon interchange, I-80 Exit 83.

Lake Tahoe: US-50 from Stateline to Cave Rock has right-lane closures in spots through Oct. 15. Intermittent day and night lane closures on US-50 between Kings Canyon Road and Stateline and from Stateline to NF-39 continue through Oct. 16, with a 35 mph limit and no oversized loads on part of the stretch.

Rural highways

US-93 paving between White Pine County mile 112.75 and Elko County mile 12.5: one lane, no passing, flaggers and a pilot car, 55 mph, with possible 30-minute delays through Nov. 24, 2026. NDOT suggests an alternate route.

Near Beatty: Death Valley roads

NV Roads still shows an old Aug. 25, 2023, advisory on NV-267 near the California line, saying Death Valley National Park is closed in California. That entry is three years old. The park's own page, updated Sept. 28, 2026, says Bonnie Clare Road and Scotty's Castle are closed for flood recovery, with no access, and no reopening date.

The park also says the one-way section of Titus Canyon Road is closed for repairs, with an expected reopening in May 2027. The two-way western section will close from Oct. 27, 2026, through December. North Highway has loose gravel and missing shoulders. Check nps.gov/deva before you go.
