Nye County Parks and Recreation Board Meets Oct. 6 in Round Mountain: Carvers Arena Grant, Youth Program Rules and Club Updates
The Nye County Park and Recreation Advisory Board meets at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2026, at the Dan Sweeney Public Safety Building in Round Mountain. It will review the Carvers Arena and Recreation Center block grant, maintenance needs, arena scheduling, a possible change to the county code that sets up the board, and updates from Smoky Valley shooting and horse clubs. County code: a possible recommendation to the commissioners to amend Nye County Code Chapter 2.16, which sets up the Park and Recreation Advisory Board.
Youth program: compliance protocols for "AB501 O-REC" related to the youth program, as worded on the agenda.
Club updates: the Smoky Valley Lead Wasters, the Smoky Valley Clay Crushers and the Smoky Valley Horseman's Club.
Budget: comments and a recommendation on the general maintenance budget for Nye County. Also: approving the Sept. 1, 2026, minutes, any emergency items, and setting the next meeting date.
