Area: Burke, NC. * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Southern Burke County in western North Carolina... * WHEN...Until noon EDT. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 606 AM EDT, Earlier today, a prolonged period of steady rainfall produced 3-6 inches across Burke County, saturating area soils. Doppler radar shows several rounds of torrential rainfall have moved through the area from the south, capable of producing 1.5-3 inches of rainfall on top of saturated soils.
