Area: Burke, NC. * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Southern Burke County in western North Carolina... * WHEN...Until noon EDT. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 606 AM EDT, Earlier today, a prolonged period of steady rainfall produced 3-6 inches across Burke County, saturating area soils. Doppler radar shows several rounds of torrential rainfall have moved through the area from the south, capable of producing 1.5-3 inches of rainfall on top of saturated soils. This rainfall will cause new areas of Minor flooding to develop. Hunting Creek in Morganton is in Mi National Weather Service alert. Matter furnished by NWS. Notice Nearby did not write this notice.
