    NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING — SPECIAL USE PERMIT The Abingdon Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Special Use Permit application SUP-26-833 concerning a covered outdoor stage for weekend bluegrass and old-time music behind an existing general store near the historic depot in the Town of Abingdon, Virginia. Hearing date: November 16, 2026, at 6:00 p.m., in the Council Chambers of the Abingdon Municipal Building. The application would allow performances on Fridays and Saturdays from April through October ending by 9:00 p.m., seating for not more than seventy guests, and a landscaped buffer along the adjoining residential lots. Written comments may be filed with the Department of Planning before the hearing. This notice is published once for a Virginia special-use hearing sample.
