ITC institutes 337-TA-1525 against Apple on trinamiX patents

    Catch-up · Fed SCB / CMS GLOBE / USCIS H.R. 1 fees / FY2027 refugees · October 2, 2026

On October 5, 2026, the Commission ordered an investigation into whether Apple Inc. violates section 337 by importing, selling for importation, or selling after importation certain mobile electronic devices and components that infringe claims of six trinamiX patents: the '925, '421, '334, '760, '394, and '352 patents. Complainants are trinamiX Sensing LLC of Austin and trinamiX GmbH of Ludwigshafen. The plain-language scope is iPhones and iPads and components thereof, including a processor and a TrueDepth camera with a VCSEL, a flood-illumination VCSEL, and a near-infrared camera module used for face authentication, 3D sensing, or material detection. They asked for a limited exclusion order and cease-and-desist orders. This notice institutes Investigation No. 337-TA-1525. It does not find a violation or issue relief. The Office of Unfair Import Investigations will not participate. Commissioner Pappas would have delegated public interest so the record could test consumer impact on privacy, safety, and security. Responses are due 20 days after service. EDIS is the operational file.

    NRC logs Blue Energy’s BWRX-300 limited-work request

NRC published a receipt notice, not a license. On September 15, 2026, Blue Energy, Inc. filed Part 1 of a phased construction-permit application under Atomic Energy Act section 103 and 10 CFR part 50 for one BWRX-300 at Blue Energy Center—Port of Victoria Nuclear Unit 1 in Victoria, Texas. Part 1 includes a limited work authorization request under 10 CFR 50.10(d), two exemption requests, an environmental report, and the preliminary safety analysis report portions that support those reviews, plus financial qualifications under 10 CFR 50.33 and technical information under 10 CFR 50.34. A full construction-permit application is intended no later than 18 months after this Part 1. Docket 99902137 and NRC-2026-4654 are the public handles; the package is ADAMS ML26265A371. Staff starts a detailed review only if Part 1 is acceptable for docketing. Later Federal Register notices, not this one, open public participation. The sequence is the point: tendered, not docketed, not authorized to break ground.

Commerce affirms 40.88 percent on Turkish chromium trioxide

Commerce’s final affirmative less-than-fair-value determination on chromium trioxide from Türkiye is unchanged from the May 22, 2026 preliminary at 91 FR 30280. The only commenter was petitioner American Chrome & Chemicals, Inc., which supported the preliminary, so there is no decision memorandum and nothing to disclose. The period of investigation is July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025. Türkiye Şişe ve Cam Fabrikaları A.Ş. (Sisecam) and all other producers and exporters are assigned 40.88 percent, the petition margin, on facts available with adverse inferences. Case A-489-856. Suspension of liquidation and cash deposits continue for entries on or after May 22, 2026. The final was due October 5 after a postponement that stretched provisional measures toward six months. Commerce will notify the ITC, which has 45 days to decide material injury or threat. A negative injury finding refunds deposits and ends the case. An affirmative finding is what produces an antidumping order. The product is chromium trioxide, CAS 1333-82-0, dry or in solution, under HTSUS 2819.10.0000.

Commerce issues AD and CVD orders on Indian oleoresin paprika

On the ITC’s October 5, 2026 material-injury findings, Commerce issued antidumping and countervailing duty orders on oleoresin paprika from India, cases A-533-938 and C-533-939, applicable October 8. Antidumping margins are 5.78 percent for Synthite Industries Pvt. Ltd., 4.24 percent for Mane Kancor Ingredients Private Ltd., and 5.08 percent for all others, and the cash-deposit rates after export-subsidy offsets are 0.00. The countervailing rates are the deposits that bind at the border: 25.42 percent for Synthite, 18.67 percent for Mane Kancor Ingredients Private Limited, and 21.90 percent for all others. Commerce had found critical circumstances for Synthite; the ITC did not, so the 90-day CVD window from November 8, 2025 through February 5, 2026 is to be lifted and refunded. Provisional antidumping measures lapsed September 29, 2026, and provisional countervailing measures lapsed June 6, 2026. Entries in those gaps liquidate without those duties until the ITC’s final determination is published and deposits resume. Read the cash-deposit tables, not the dumping percentages, as the live border number.
